When he was captured and about to be executed, he revealed that his treasure called One Piece was hidden somewhere at the Grand Line. This made all people set out to search and uncover the One Piece treasure, but no one ever found the location of Gol D. Roger's treasure, and the Grand Line was too dangerous a place to overcome. Twenty-two years after Gol D. Roger's death, a boy named Monkey D. Luffy decided to become a pirate and search for Gol D. Roger's treasure to become the next Pirate King. The man who had acquired everything in this world, the Pirate King, is Gol D. Roger. The final words he said at the execution tower were "My treasures? If you want it, I'll let you have it. Look for it; I left all of it at that place." These words sent many to the seas, chasing their dreams, headed toward the Grand Line, in search of One Piece. And a new age began! Seeking to be the greatest pirate in the world, young Monkey D. Luffy also heads toward the Grand Line in search of One Piece. With his diverse crew joining him along the way, consisting of a swordsman, marksman, navigator, cook, doctor, archaeologist, and cyborg-shipwright, this will be one memorable adventure. It tops every other show I've seen. watch the funimation dub though, the 4kids is terrible in comparison. Every character has great chemistry with one another. It has a great action to comedy ratio. There are many twists you never see coming. It takes place during 'the great pirate era' and everybody is searching for the legendary one piece which is rumored to rest at the end of the grand line, the most treacherous sea in the world. It is the best show i believe I've ever seen and I'm not even one for anime. If only they aired the uncut dub on television I guarantee it would have been as big, if not bigger, than dragon ball z. Its not just a show for people who like anime but for everyone. One day it will hopefully be televised. Let me start by saying, I don't understand Japanese and I'm a huge fan of Naruto, Shippuuden and Bleach (of course, all original Japanese versions). One Piece was shown on Cartoon Network when I was 13/14 & I thought it was lame. Now, I see why it was lame, it was 4kids English version which was pretty horrible. <br/><br/>Monkey. D. Luffy is the captain of a small group of pirates, famous as the Straw Hat Pirates. He recruits a small and diverse group of people who will be his nakama on the journey. He is more interested in food and nakamas than in gold & money as normal pirate would be. He is a comedian more than a captain, but he rises to the occasion when needed and he's a good role model. He wants to get to One Piece & become the King Of Pirates. He gets Roronoa Zoro on board first. He is a highly skilled swordsman & is known as the pirate hunter Zoro. He uses three katanas & its his ambition to become the best swordsman in the world. Then Nami comes aboard as the skilled navigator. Its her dream to draw the map of the whole world. After that, Usopp the storyteller (i.e he's a great liar) becomes their nakama.<br/><br/>Next Sanji becomes their cook. His dream is to prove that All-Blue exists and he's an awesome kicker along with being a highly skilled cook. But, he loses it whenever he sees a beautiful lady. Then comes Chopper, a reindeer (you heard me right!). He becomes their doctor and he's very good at it. Then Nico Robin hops on aboard. Her dream is to find out about the ultimate Poneglyph, Rio Poneglyph. She has a power and a troubled past.<br/><br/>This story is about taking the initiative to go for your dreams. Take the awesome adventures with Luffy and his nakama and you'll fall in love with them. There is comedy, spirit, love and an awe-inspiring factor in the anime. Even the animation which feels weird at first grows on you so much that you'll like this kind of animation more than the others.<br/><br/>Now, I have just finished seeing the Sky Island episodes where Enel is fighting Luffy (200th episode). I have to say I am hooked to this show. This is definitely a show not for meant for kids. Even if you hate hearing the Japanese language, try seeing it for some episodes and you'll get hooked. I can't recommend this series enough. See it, believe it, enjoy it. This is my all time favourite anime, above Bleach & Naruto. This is miles above those anime. Anyone who has seen all three anime will agree with me!<br/><br/>10/10 Franky: 7'4.5", & Brook: 8'8.5"After Zoro defeated Daz Bones, Smoker tells Tashigi that Daz Bones was killed after Zoro's final blow. However in the Miss Goldenweek Mini Arc in the manga it was revealed that Daz Bone is alive and was sent to prison along with most of the Baroque Works members. The reason for Smoker to say that Daz Bones was killed is likely that he was misinformed about Daz Bones after the Alabasta incident concluded with the Marine arresting all of the members of the Baroque Works Syndicate. When the Warship Island Arc was almost entirely skipped, they remove the episodes that explained why you can't just sail into the Grand Line. This story arc is also an anime filler arc and did not originate in the manga.<br/><br/>Laboon Arc. was the second to be excluded which removed the true meeting of Mr. 9 & Miss Wednesday(Vivi), which in the 4Kids Version the Straw Hat Pirates first meet Vivi at Misty Peak(Whiskey Peak). With Laboon excluded, this would of excluded the reason for why Luffy wanted Brook to join the crew. Crocus also excluded was the person who inform the Straw Hat Pirates about the use of Log Pose and the name of the island where One Piece is suppose to be located. Crocus would later end up being revealed to have been a member of Gold Roger's crew.<br/><br/>The Little Garden Arc was the last major story arc to be excluded in the 4Kids version. Meaning the encounter of Broggy, Dorry, Mr. 3 & Miss Goldenweek were taken out. Without the encounter of the giants, it wouldn't be possible for Ussop to have convinced Oimo & Kashi that they were deceived by the government about Dorry & Broggy being imprisoned. Without the encounter of Mr. 3 on Little Garden, the Straw Hat Pirates in the 4Kids version act like they never met him or Miss Goldenweek before. Plus it wouldn't be possible for Luffy to know Mr. 3 by the time he encounters him again at Impel Down. The true first appearance of Crocodile was the removal of the scene of Sanji talking to Crocodile on the Snail Transponder under the alias "Mr. Prince" as this also led to the removal of Mr. 3 not knowing about his "conversation" with Crocodile at Little Garden and later Crocodile realizing Mr. Prince (Sanji) was the one who answered Mr. 3's Snail Transponder. Mr. 3's role was rewritten explaining he's been spying on the Straw Hat Pirates since Louge Town(Rouge Town) except the Baroque Works had no knowledge of them until Whiskey Peak. Nami's bug bite was re-written as "Grand Line Fever" when she actually got it from a prehistoric bug on Little Garden. The origin of how she got the fever resulted in utter confusion in the 4Kids version.<br/><br/>These plot holes would of effected the 4Kids version if they continued on.
